HANDY THINGS TO KNOW….

RATES TO HIRE?

The price varies depending on when you hire and for how long.  Please fill out the Enquiry Form which is in the Availability calendar.  If you send us an email without us knowing all the information required we can’t quote you accurately sorry.

We have a daily charge. Eg pick up anytime after 9am and return by 8am the following morning is 1 day and you have a max 200km travel allowance in this period.  You can not accumulate kilometres or pay extra.

If you want to travel further please ask us.


WHERE CAN I GET THE KOMBI?

Pick up/drop off is from the Bellarine Peninsula, which is east of Geelong.

Avalon Airport is the closest airport to us and has a shuttle service to Geelong.

Tullamarine Airport also has an hourly bus service which currently runs to Geelong city or Train Station.

From the bus stops you can catch a taxi, uber or bus to us.  If you are catching a bus to our area please let us know so we can collect you from a local bus stop.


HOW FAR CAN I DRIVE?

We have a maximum 200km per day travel allowance.  You can not accumulate this and travel 400km one day because you didn’t drive anywhere the day before.  Please be specific in the Enquiry Form *Destination eg needs to be the furtherest stop you plan to go not just Great Ocean Road or East Coast.

Not many people will hand their keys over to strangers but we trust you and appreciate you taking your time to travel and treat our vans with love so that they will continue to stay on our roads for generations to come.

If you take the option to return by 8am you must stay within 50km of our home.  You aren’t allowed to travel 200km on this last morning.  We need the kombi returned by 8am unless otherwise organised so we have time to prepare for the next customer.


WHAT FUEL DOES A KOMBI TAKE?

All our kombi’s run on Unleaded Petrol 98 only.  If you desperately need fuel and this isn’t available we ask you put enough Unleaded 95 to get you to the next stop and then fuel up again with this higher class petrol as it will get you further in km’s and the engines will love you forever.  A poor quality fuel could be extremely harmful to their engines.


DO I GET A FULL TANK?

We start you with a full tank of fuel when you pick up our kombi and you must return with a full tank.  There are a number of petrol stations near our business.  If you are traveling along the coast please fuel at major stops for eg Torquay, Lorne and Apollo Bay.  Smaller coastal towns may not have 98.

If you do not return with a full tank we will ask you to go out and fill it up or if you have transport to catch we will charge your credit card for the cost + $20 for our time.


IS INSURANCE INCLUDED?

Yes you are covered by full comprehensive insurance however please be prepared to pay $2000 – $5000 excess if anything should happen to the kombi.  All drivers must be over 21 and have their drivers licence with them when collecting the van and must give us a credit card for a security authorization on the day of hire.  The van can not leave our premises until the DRIVER gives us a security authorization or allows their credit card details to be noted.

The other brilliant option is to grab Excess Insurance Cover before your hire from www.rentalcover.com.au this will ensure you get your money in the case of an accident.


ARE YOUR KOMBI’S RELIABLE?

Absolutely but they are also over 40 years old.  We have a qualified kombi mechanic check the kombi before and after each trip.  You must stop immediately if you hear, feel or smell something different with your kombi and call us anytime of the day or night and we will arrange for your kombi to be fixed.

Please DO NOT try and repair anything without consulting us first and if you can’t reach us after calling please send a text message and we will return your call asap.   If you are a mechanic or know old cars please still call us first.

CAN I DROP OFF IN ANOTHER LOCATION?

Our current pick up/drop off location is at Marcus Hill only. If you are willing to pay for the van to be driven/or transported to another destination please let us know and we can help organise a quote.  Our vans can travel interstate however you will have to pay for everyday the van is away from our premises and the transport costs.


HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?

  • Send us an enquiry via our Availability toolbar at the top right hand corner of website
  • Read the Terms on the bottom tool bar of our website.  If you agree with them pass on your phone number and we will email the invoice across.  We require $250 deposit per week of hire upfront to confirm your booking and the remaining amount is due 21 days prior to hire date.  For wedding bookings $250 is due upfront per day of hire.
  • You can then make payment into our account or over the phone using Eftpos.
  • Vouchers can be purchased on our website under Shop and are valid for 12 months.

DO I PAY FOR TOLLS?

YES!  You must call up and pay for any tolls you go through.  Failing to do so will leave you with Administration fees from Citylink or Eastlink and we will charge $10 on top for our time in chasing you up.


IS LINEN INCLUDED?

We can supply linen for $30 per bed.  Each bed will be supplied 2 x pillow, 1 x fitted sheet, 1 x quilt and 2 x towels.

Sleeping bags are optional.
